Eye Candy: Dishes

I've always loved fancy things. Not necessarily expensive, but always fancy. I love a room that sparkles & shines, glitters & glams...and if it's breakable....it's beautiful. :)

In other words....

I dream of having chandeliers in every room of my "someday" house...

..of vintage mirrors...mercury glass...of tall, glass apothecary jars....

...of velvet sofas....and raw silk drapes....

But on the other hand...

The practical me says I want a home that isn't child-proof or unlivable. I like real. I like to use what I have {& not just on display} and not worry too much if something spills on it or something gets dropped.

I've been trying to define my decor style for awhile now...and I think I've finally got it {at least for now}. I'm gonna call it rustic cottage meets vintage glamour. What do you think?

I think I like it!

So what does this have to do with dishes you say? Well.....

Dishes are the the ultimate tie-breaker. Because you see...you have to use them every day when you eat, yet if you drop them, they'll break......Perfect!

Which brings me to my Eye Candy of the day...

I'm looking for a new pattern of every day dishes since the pattern that we registered for when we got married (which we've barely added to) is discontinuing. Bummer I know..but when I came across this...ohhh la la! My favorite colors and also....birds!

But I need your help....am I going through a bird phase, or do these have what it takes to go the distance.......

Post me a comment...I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Oh...and...

Happy New Year!

xoxo,

Gail

i find i go in and out of decorating styles but i usually come back to the one i love the most. love the dishes-i think you'll love looking back on them when you're older(like mema's flowery dishes)-remembering you chose them in your early married days.
